By Diane Kepus:
Do kids today have any idea what our flag and our national anthem represent?
I would venture to say at least half of the children in our schools today do not even know who Francis Scott Key is since American History is no longer an important thing to be taught to our children.
I supported the American Flag because it flies for all of us and has not one “social justice” stripe in it. Hundreds of souls are attached to it and it has never ask for anything. It stands for AMERICA – not Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Black, White, Hispanic, Green, Purple, Left, Right or any combination thereof -and in case you missed it, WE ALL BLEED RED!
I agree with Rush Limbaugh when he says our Congress is working for themselves and could care less about you or this country unless it ends up in their wallets. I also agree when he states the “establishment cannot afford to let Trump succeed” – for he may very well upset their applecart.
Newt Gingrich, always being known for being a part of the so called “establishment” on the other hand would have you believe that even with the fact the Congress COULD or WOULD not work together for the good of the people and get rid of Obamacare having had seven years to plan, are still concerned about our welfare. Gingrich will also have you believe the best thing the Republicans and Democrats have done in those seven years is working together to create a “postcard” of which Americans will be able to use to file their taxes.
It must mean only if you are NOT filing with any exemptions. Oh, is that what is going to be happening? Fixing the tax rate for the middle class but no longer have exemptions? Hum!
We know there is no difference between the 2-party’s other than a “D” and an “R”. They are all but 1% concerned with their relationships with lobbyists and how much goes into their wallets – adding in “can I keep my head far enough above water to get re-elected?”.
What a country!
The National Anthem was originally titled “The Defense of Fort McHenry” after Key had witnessed the Maryland fort being bombarded by the British during the War of 1812.
I can only imagine what went through Key’s mind and embraced his heart by the sight of the “lone” American flag still flying over the Fort that early morning so long ago.
As an AMERICAN who has traced my lineage to many who fought for this country from the very beginning – from making that unknown voyage across the Atlantic to a new country unknown, then fighting in the French and Indian War, American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, WWI, WWII and the Vietnam fiasco, I am Proud! Our flag has been paramount in representing the men and women who were willing to give their lives to preserve this country. Or at least that is what our government told them they were doing. Today we won’t go behind the truth of some of these wars, but discuss what the flag actually represents.
Francis Scott Key was born in 1779 at his family’s home of which is now known as Carroll County, MD. He became a successful lawyer and in later years was appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Yes, I know I support the Original 13th Amendment being put in its rightful place in the Constitution and it is against lawyers holding elected office in that their taking the Oath of the Bar Association places their allegiance to Nobility and outside sources.
Then, as today, there were unprincipled nations, corporations and men within and without our Nation seeking every means of power and control, appealing to the egos, lusts and greed’s of men. The Constitution had no means of enforcing a penalty on their attempts to suborn our citizens along with subverting the Constitution and our new Republic.
Hence the need for the Thirteenth Article of Amendment to the Constitution as the monarchies of Europe tried to extend their leadership or dominance over the United States and the Western Hemisphere.
This 13th Article of Amendment or as it was called at the time “Titles of Nobility Act” is intimately connected to questions of war and national defense. It was designed to combat internal subversion and discord sowed by people who were adhering to foreign powers without stepping across the bold Constitutional line of treason or as we would say “behind the scenes”.
The authors of the Amendment wrote it after some additional experience with how the British Empire, as well as other European nations, conducted their affairs. It is a corrective and supplemental measure to go along with Constitutional treason.
An example of the Treason from within at the time was pointed out shortly after the ratification of the 13th Amendment when then President Monroe gave his annual message to Congress on December 2, 1823 referring to his recently written Monroe Doctrine excluding European colonization or interference in the affairs of the Nations in the Western Hemisphere. George Poindexter, delegate from the Mississippi Territory responded by saying, “The sovereignty, the honor, and the best interests of AMERICA have been assailed.”
The most direct and important words within the Monroe Doctrine are these: ” In the discussion to which this interest has given rise and in the arrangements by which they may terminate the occasion has been judged proper for asserting, as a principle in which the rights and interests of the united states are involved, that the American continents, by the free and independent condition which they have assumed and maintain, are henceforth not to be considered as subjects for future colonization by any European power.”
Poindexter in his statement was referring to the British ambassador who was sitting on the floor of the House of Representatives at the time and the ambassador in Poindexter’s mind and by his words was, ” a Minister sent among us to excite the demon of discord and division; a legalized spy, prowling from Hampton to New York and through every city, town, and village, to designate the victims of corruption, and to subvert, if possible, the allegiance of the citizens from their Government, and thereby promote the views of the King, his master.”
I think Poindexter said it very well! For at the same time thousands of Creek and Seminole warriors lived peaceably in the many towns and settlements which dotted the rivers west of the Georgia frontier.
However, their kinsmen living in Florida, under Spanish rule, were undisciplined raiders by comparison, and their towns were havens for runaway slaves.
Men of the western frontier understood the great Creek leader, Alexander McGillivray, had served as a colonel in the British Army during the Revolution, and had grown wealthy as a civil servant of Spain. Shortly before his death in 1793, McGillivray, chief of the Creek and Seminole, had repudiated the treaty of peace negotiated in 1790 at New York.
What Poindexter knew as did most American leadership at the time was that British policy under the leadership of Sir James Craig, Governor-in-Chief of Canada, was to encourage the Indian tribes and clans from southern Ontario to western Florida to resist both American diplomacy and expansion.
“The British Ministry,” said Poindexter, on every occasion which required extraordinary duplicity, have availed themselves of this incendiary”. Add to these comments the equally critical, and lengthy, speech that had been given by Senator William Branch Giles of Virginia on December 8th, 1809, there can be no doubt that the growing antagonism against Britain, and her new ally, Spain, had reached a slow boil in the Congress of the new united states.
It is most important for Americans to accept these same conditions exist today, only more so, and the need for the ORIGINAL 13th Amendment is even greater today than when it was originally passed.
The United States continually sees fit to take on the affairs of the nations of Europe and Asia taking us into wars for financial gain through the support of the corporations who have all gotten rich through our wars – especially the Bushes from WWII to today, but there are others.
Lobbying groups and multi-national corporations running our country by filling the wallets of Congress is a plan “made in hell” and it has taken this country down a “yellow brick road of no return” UNLESS the Americans of this country take back their Constitutional CONTROL.
With the evidenced, daily duplicity by the unprincipled, unethical and immoral conduct of a number of our elected representatives who continue to subvert the Constitution and our laws at every step and who will destroy the Sovereignty of the united States of America for Money, Power and Control should have no place in our government.
Our country has been on a downward slide since December 1978 and Americans would do well to do their research to help them understand what happened at that time and what it has meant to our country as a whole.
Just recently, in an article published regarding the corruption in our government, a statement was made that if they ever get done running everyone down who is linked to “Pizzagate”, D.C. will be empty!
One of Francis Scott Key’s friends, Dr. William Beanes had just been taken prisoner by the British. Key was dispatched by President James Madison on the mission to Baltimore to negotiate for the release of his friend who was being held on a British ship and Key negotiated his friends release. The British would not release Beanes until after the bombardment of Fort McHenry.
From eight miles away from the bombing, Key watched and waited. As the sun rose the following day, Key was so happy to see the American flag still flying over the fort, he quickly penned the words we sing today.
Few know or remember it was not Key who put the words to music, but composer John Stafford Smith who put Key’s words to the music of a popular English drinking tune “To Anacreon in Heaven”.
Key was quite familiar with the tune, having used it to accompany an earlier 1805 poem, which included a reference to a “star-spangled flag,” which he had written to honor Barbary War naval heroes Stephen Decatur and Charles Stewart. Key had written the poem on the back of a letter he had in one of his pockets, and titled the song originally “Defense of Fort McHenry”.
For all our Liberal readers, Key’s poem would not become the National anthem until 1916 after President Woodrow Wilson signing an executive order designating it as “the national anthem of the United States” for all military ceremonies. On March 3, 1931, after 40 previous attempts failed, a measure passed Congress and was signed into law that formally designated “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the national anthem of the United States.
And for those that are using “social justice” once again to support their anger against the flag, Key was one of the few “very trusted” lawyers at the time and served on President Andrew Jackson’s “Kitchen Cabinet” and he prosecuted hundreds of cases including the one for the man who tried to assassinate Jackson, Richard Lawrence.
And you want to dump dirt on Jackson – a man who almost lost his life from Richard Lawrence, paid by the Illuminati (Rothschild) to murder Jackson because he opposed the National Bank:
- He was IRISH with his family immigrating in 1765 from Northern Ireland
- He won the POPULAR vote of the people 3 times
- He was a Prisoner of War at the age of 13 during the American Revolution. Refusing to shine the boots of a British Officer by his order, the officer slashed Jackson’s left hand to the bone and gashed his head leaving a permanent scar.
- He and his wife adopted a pair of Native American infants during the Creek War.
- Yes, he liked to gamble.
- Although Jackson detested our American paper money, choosing rather for coinage – his picture is on the $20 bill.
You who like your knees so well would do well for yourself and others to use them to speak with God and as to the FLAG, if you don’t respect it, to me you don’t respect our country either. So as an American who pays your salary so you can spend your time playing a game for a living, I suggest you leave our great country for the rest of us to love and respect and DO NOT let my door of LIBERTY hit you in your backside as you leave!
